House and Visitor Rules

The house and visitor regulations serve to protect people and property across the entire Zinngrube site and are binding for all guests. By entering the museum grounds, you acknowledge our visitor regulations as well as any further directives issued to ensure operational safety.

1. Visitors must strictly follow the instructions and directions given by museum staff.
2. The tap water in the washrooms and restrooms is not potable.
3. Smoking is strictly prohibited in all buildings of the visitor mine.
4. Visitors who are intoxicated or otherwise not in a fit state are not permitted to enter the museum or participate in guided tours.
5. Access to the exhibition areas is permitted only with a valid admission ticket. Tickets are valid only for the day of purchase.
6. Found items must be handed in at the ticket counter or to a member of the mine staff.
7. Any personal injury or property damage must be reported immediately to museum staff. Claims made at a later date cannot be accepted. The party responsible is liable for personal injury or damage to property in accordance with statutory regulations.
8. Photography for private use is permitted only without flash. For commercial use, a photography or filming permit must be obtained from museum management in advance.

1. Please maintain the utmost quiet in the exhibition rooms.
2. For security reasons, the exhibition rooms and the ticket area are under video surveillance.
3. Bringing large or bulky items (e.g., suitcases, packages, backpacks, sports equipment) or animals (with the exception of guide dogs) into the exhibition rooms is not permitted.
4. Touching, soiling, or damaging the premises, furnishings, or exhibits is prohibited, as is eating, drinking, or using open flames in the exhibition area. All waste must be disposed of only in the designated receptacles.
5. Entering restricted areas in the outdoor grounds is strictly prohibited!
6. Children under the age of 10 are permitted to enter the exhibition rooms only when accompanied by an adult. Small children must be held by the hand.
7. School classes may visit the exhibition rooms only as a unified group under the guidance and supervision of a teacher or other responsible chaperone. As a general rule, the group size should not exceed a standard class size.

1. Participation in guided tours is permitted only upon prior registration and the recording of details on a cable-ride pass.
2. Visitors must inform Zinngrube staff of any fear of heights or enclosed spaces prior to the start of the tour.
3. The minimum age for the "Erlebnisführung" / big tour (2.5 hours) is 10 years. For the "Touristikführung" / small tour (1.5 hours), the minimum age is 6 years, provided that a legal guardian or a person authorized by a legal guardian accompanies the child on the tour.
4. For tours involving school groups aged 10 to 16, at least one supervising adult (teacher or parent) must accompany the group. For tours involving school groups aged 6 to 9, one accompanying adult (e.g., teacher or parent) is required for every five students.
5. Protective clothing — such as rubber boots and capes or overalls — is provided depending on the type of tour. Sturdy footwear is sufficient for the "Touristikführung" / small tour. Protective helmets must be worn at all times throughout the tour.
6. Lighting equipment is issued based on necessity and availability.
7. No liability is assumed for soiled clothing or lost valuables. Upon request, each visitor is provided with a lockable hook for hanging belongings; visitors are advised to remove and personally secure any items at risk of damage or loss (e.g., jewelry) before the tour begins.
8. Leaning or reaching out of the transport carrier during the cable ride or out of the personnel transport vehicle during the underground journey is prohibited.
9. The tour group must remain together on the designated visitor path and at each station throughout the entire tour. Instructions given by Zinngrube staff must be strictly followed.
10. Every visitor must behave prudently and with foresight, taking into account the prevailing conditions in the mine (risk of tripping, slipping, and bumping one's head or body).
