Erlebnisführung / the big tour
Our extensive tour offers insights into the history, geology, and technology of both modern and historical mining, and includes a visit to the replica of the Ehrenfriedersdorf water-wheel pump as well as a mine train ride.
Advance booking is strongly recommended! For safety reasons, underground tours only take place with a minimum group size of two people.
A mine hoist system takes visitors down to a depth of 100 meters. During the approximately 1.5 km tour of the visitor mine, participants learn about the history of mining, the geology of the deposit, and the technologies used in both modern and historical mining. The highlight of the guided experience is a visit to the Ehrenfriedersdorf water-wheel pump, including a ride on the mine train along the *Tiefer Sauberger* adit.
Schedule and start time: Thursday to Sunday at 10:00 a.m.
Duration: 2.5 hours
Equipment provided: Overalls, rubber boots, hard hat, and mine light.
For mine tour participants, admission to the museum — either before or after the tour — is included in the ticket price during regular museum opening hours.
