Museum to go

For visitors unable or unwilling to go underground, our surface machinery display has offered a new, multisensory way to gain insight into the underground world since March 2024. The machines on display feature information plates providing technical details in both German and Czech.

A QR-Code on each plate allows visitors to view the specific type of machine in its original underground setting. Audio recordings of the underground environment convey the sounds of the machinery in operation. Spoken commentary for each station is available in German, English, and Czech, providing accessible access to information that would otherwise only be conveyed during underground tours or via the information plates.

This project was made possible by the "KulturErhalt" (Cultural Preservation) funding program of the Sächsische Aufbaubank (SAB).

Visitors can tour our surface machinery display even outside of regular opening hours.
